Yvette Mitchell comes to The Sycamore School with over 15 years of social work experience. Yvette has worked with children and adolescents in a variety of mental health settings including private practice, as well as inpatient and partial hospitalization programs. In these roles Yvette has provided psychotherapy to tweens and adolescents who have struggled with issues such as anxiety, depression, eating disorders, life transitions, low self-esteem, social skills, and emotional intelligence. Yvette holds both Bachelor’s and Master’s of Social Work degrees, and is recognized as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker by the Commonwealth of Virginia and the District of Columbia. She is also a certified children’s yoga instructor and assists as a co-instructor of the Movement and Mindfulness classes that are provided to our students. During her downtime, Yvette enjoys spending time with her family and listening to any kind of live music.
