Madison Hansen

STEM Teacher

Madison is a STEM educator from California. At The Sycamore School, they teach Experience and Math classes for middle and high school. An interdisciplinary jack-of-all-trades, Madison has also taught one middle school Engineering elective and a high school Movement & Mindfulness class. Their teaching passions include helping students develop problem-solving skills and weaving together physics, chemistry, and biology concepts into daily lessons.

Madison graduated from Harvey Mudd College with a Bachelors in Mathematical and Computational Biology and a humanities concentration in Philosophy. After graduating, they moved to New York City, earned a Masters degree in Biology, and worked as a data scientist at IBM. Then Madison moved to the Washington, DC area and tutored math at a public charter school, before joining The Sycamore School in 2023.

Outside the classroom, Madison’s hobbies include taking dance and fitness classes and attending live music concerts. They also enjoy reading comics and traveling internationally.
