Michael Lowe

Music Teacher

Michael grew up in Gainesville FL before graduating from Northwestern University with a Bachelor of Music degree.  Michael has performed with distinguished ensembles including London Brass, Pyramid Brass Quintet, Steamboat Brass, the Elmhurst Symphony, the Eastern Music Festival Orchestras. In 2002, Michael was a participant in the National Orchestral Institute in College Park, MD. He was a member of the teaching faculties of the Levine School of Music and the International School of Music. 

Notable achievements include being a finalist in the 1996 Eastern Music Festival Concerto Competition and the 1995 National Trumpet Competition, as well as winning the 1995 Florida International Trumpet Guild Solo Competition.

Currently, Michael is a member of the Monumental Brass Quintet and also provides private brass instruction and coaching in Fairfax and Montgomery counties.  When he’s not teaching Michael enjoys spending time hiking trails with his family in Shenandoah National Park.
