Rae Britton

Dean of Students

Rae was born and raised in Northern Virginia. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Family and Community Services with a concentration in Child Development, followed by a Master of Science in Human Development and Family Science from East Carolina University. While completing her graduate studies, Rae worked as a teacher in the university’s child development lab and conducted research on adverse childhood experiences and their impact on human behavior and development.

After earning her master’s degree, Rae returned to Northern Virginia and began her career as an intensive in-home counselor, supporting children and their families. Drawn to The Sycamore School’s emphasis on social and emotional learning, Rae joined the team as the middle school counselor, a role she held for four years. She now proudly serves as the Dean of Students.

Outside of work, Rae enjoys live music and working on arts and crafts projects. She is also a huge animal lover!
