Description: In my work with children and teens, I have developed three main approaches that help children learn skills in order to take control their anger. In this presentation, I will focus on these strategies, including practical hands-on approaches that you can practice with your child at home. My goal is to help children and teens learn to better manage feelings of anger, and develop greater emotion regulation more broadly. You will leave this presentation with new insight, understanding, and most importantly, strategies to help your child take charge of his or her anger and regain control of his or her behavior. This award-winning documentary is the result of hundreds of interviews of women across America by the filmmakers Lauren Paul and Molly Thompson. The documentary finds among all these personal accounts, there are universal truths about the pressures of being a girl and that those pressures can take a toll on our relationships with other women. By entering school hallways and talking with hundreds of students, Lauren and Molly learn how bullying is evolving and the life-threatening impact it can have.
